Prepare for the season with three days in West-by-God-Virginia at Treasure Mountain! Kent and Harlan designed this place for maximum fun and learning in an amazing, remote location. Loamy Glade riding, technical rock stuff, dirt jumps and shuttles! Meals, lessons, tech support, spare bikes, suspension set-up, lodging, shuttles – all included! Limited to 16 people. This place has to be seen to be believed! This is what you would do if you had a huge house on a mountain ridge in West Virginia!
Harlan is very skilled at making sure you are progressing from your current level to the next skill. We have been doing events with Harlan for years now and EVERYONE has an amazing experience with TakeAim Cycling!
This is a rain or shine event. It’s the mountains so there can be wild weather swings. Jacket, waterproof stuff, goggles are all a great idea!

This is a limited-attendance event. We are counting on every person who registers to show up. We are providing a ton of advanced notice in order to make this event successful. Once you pay your 50% deposit, it is transferable but non-refundable. No exceptions. The balance of the registration fee will be due on or before Aug 1st. We will accommodate transfers up until Sep 1st with no transfer fee. If we have space, you can register any time.
Protection – Helmet, neck brace, gloves, elbow, knee, shin, back, chest protection recommended. You purchase from TrailWerks.
Bike – Trail bike bike with aggressive tread tires and heavy sidewall, suspension in working order and wheels in reasonable shape.
Clothing – Bring durable enduro-style gear that you don’t mind crashing in (it happens). Also, temps drop A LOT at night. Prepare for that. This is rain/shine so we won’t be cancelling if it’s wet. Be prepared.
Riding downhill all day is hard. It’s not the pedaling, it’s the muscles that you use to stay in the ‘ready’ position that will wear out. It is recommended that you do some push-ups, sit-ups and squats on a regular basis (3-5 times a week) to ensure that you can be strong and ride for 2.5 days straight. Don’t underestimate how much work this is. Going downhill, pinned, for 10 minutes on a lot of these runs takes serious strength.
You will be required to bring your bike into TrailWerks Cyclery before the event to ensure your equipment is up to the task. There is no charge to check out your bike but it may require work or upgrades. If you have concerns, please bring your bike in BEFORE registering.
